Your bathroom is probably one of the most important rooms in your house, and not only for practical reasons. It can be a haven of calm and peace and also show off your sense of style when guests visit. Most of us at some time want to remodel our bathroom; the décor goes out of style, our family grows or gets smaller as children grow up or we want to add a new feature.
The good news is that a bathroom remodel doesn’t have to cost a fortune! You can have a whole new look, change or add different fixtures for less than you would think. For example, a new vanity and counter tops can transform a bathroom with a completely different look. There are so many different styles of vanity fixtures and cabinets that your only problem may be choosing between them. You may want one with a double sink configuration for a “his and her” bathroom or two separate vanities forming an “L” in a corner that was previously wasted space. Corian counter tops to finish them will be beautiful and prevent bacteria and dirt accumulation. There are even vanities and cupboards that resemble bamboo for a warm tropical look and atmosphere.
Mirrors are another inexpensive way to modernize and beautify your bathroom. There are many styles, both ornate and simple, and all sizes and shapes. Mirrors range from charming to futuristic, from functional to fun.
Perhaps you’re not satisfied with your shower or bath combination. You can change that very simply or replace the entire thing. Sometimes adding glass shower doors will modernize and beautify a bathroom. If you have an oddly shaped shower you can choose a Magnafold Elite folding glass door. For tight spaces close to closets or a commode there is the Magnafold 2 folding glass door. Both are beautiful and easy to care for. You can add a luxurious tub to your bathroom or get rid of an existing older model in favor of a modernized shower. While Dean Lumber does not install bathtubs we can do the surrounds for them in beautiful Corian. Our designers will help, working with you, your builder and your plumber.
While you’re redesigning your bathroom you should think about a bar rail or several, in and around the tub/shower and the commode. A bar rail isn’t only for the elderly-they have prevented many slip and fall accidents for people of all ages. If you consider moving in the future, a few of these rails will only enhance the value of your home and make it accessible to all age groups.
Decorative bath-ware is another way to update or change the décor of your bathroom. Dean Lumber carries many styles of towel racks, hooks and rings made of metal, bone or white porcelain. You may even want to replace the faucets or install new windows to inexpensively update a bathroom that is otherwise satisfactory. Getting a “new” bathroom doesn’t have to cost a fortune with Dean Lumber to help you.
